Video Marketing Tactics

It’s interesting how things change so quickly with technology and Internet Marketing.

Just a year ago, long form sales letters were all the rage. Everyone needed an expensive copywriter.

Now, video sales letters are popping up all over the place and more and more products are being sold exclusively through video.

The problem is, if you’re an affiliate marketer and not selling a product of your own, you most likely will think that there is no need for video.

That couldn’t be further from the truth.

Video Marketing for Affiliates

Video marketing has been used by affiliates for a while, but many of them just don’t know how to take advantage of all of the benefits that are available to them.

Yes, sites like Youtube and Facebook are great for posting videos, but if you aren’t providing the right message in your videos then you are missing out.

What to Include in Your Videos

Whether you want to get on camera yourself, create a simple slideshow or something more fancy with complicated video editing software, you need to have the right message.

  • Including an attention grabbing first 10 seconds. This can be an engaging question that get’s the viewer thinking, a comment or shocking statement or eye catching graphic.
  • Build a better body…what I mean here is have some “meat” in your video. Add some content that answers the questions your viewer wants to know more. This could be a handful of statements on a topic, some bullet points, step by step instructions or even more leading questions.
  • Call to Action – Many videos lack this key element. After your viewer has spent their time watching your video message, what do you want them to do. Tell them exactly what you expect of them. That includes “Go to this website for more information”, “For the second half of this video go to..”, “Call 1-800.#### for more information”, “Claim your free download at…”

  1. It is surprising to know that affiliate marketers are unable to use the full purpose of video in generating/expanding business. The tips on what to include as a form of content in the videos is quite insightful. Thanks! I’m awaiting your next post.

  2. [...] Here’s the follow up to yesterday’s post about getting your videos indexed in the search engines. [...]

  3. Video Marketing certainly has a great impact due to its graphical appeal and its power to capture the viewer’s attention. When your viewer is watching the video after they arrive to your video landing page they will not visibly know that there is an order link on your page until near the end of the video when your affiliate link will suddenly “magically” appear under your video. Simply amazing!
